The owner of Georgia Media Group contacted me to design and develop a WordPress website specifically for a local news outlet very popular on Facebook. She explained that she already had the hosting, picked out a theme and was ready to roll.
Unfortunately, dealing with that hosting company was a total nightmare in support and product, as we couldn’t get things working properly. The system crashed, WordPress wouldn’t load, problems with SSL and numerous other issues. In the meantime, development of the site continued on our server. Tech support at that other host couldn’t get it working and even tried to charge the owner extra to copy the development copy and did not complete the job. After many months, and numerous frustrations, everything was moved out of that hosting entity, even the domain name.
This active news site features posts, numerous categories, tags and RSS feeds. This site also includes advertising and Google AdSense to help it be self-supporting. The design has shifted a bit since we started, but it is coming together and the final details are almost done.
